About Us

Stepping Stones first opened its doors in 1999 and has long been a favourite in Garstang. Set beside the River Wyre, with views towards the foothills of the Trough of Bowland, it offers a truly special setting — where water, fields and open skies frame every visit.

Originally built as a family home in the 1980s, the building has evolved into the welcoming countryside eatery it is today. While much has changed, it has always retained its warm, homely character, now paired with a refined yet relaxed approach to seasonal food and drink. Our dining spaces look out across the river and fells, making it the perfect place to enjoy thoughtful, locally sourced dishes, freshly brewed coffee and unhurried conversation after a walk through some of Lancashire’s most beautiful countryside.

Stepping Stones remains proudly family-run and dog-friendly, known for its warm welcome and easy charm. Just off the A6 north of Garstang on Weavers Lane, and less than 10 minutes from the M6, it feels wonderfully removed from the rush of city life, swapping traffic for trees and rolling hills.

Dogs are welcome in our main dining areas and gardens. Please note that some areas may occasionally be reserved for special events.

We look forward to welcoming you.
